Our
Team

At Active Physiotherapy our staff are committed to providing individualised, hands-on treatment to help you achieve your treatment goals as fast as possible. All our Physiotherapists are Masters trained and Members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, ensuring that you receive the highest quality care to assist with your pain and rehabilitation.

We have worked hard since 2009 to develop an excellent reputation amongst local GP’s, specialists and members of the public. This has allowed our clinic to grow and the services we offer have expanded to meet this demand.

Who we are

Our Team - Stuart Cheval

Stuart Cheval
Director/Physiotherapist

Stuart graduated from the University of Queensland in 1998 and started his physiotherapy career on the wards of the Royal Hobart Hospital. His time in Tasmania led to a passion for travel and adventure, and for the next seven years, Stuart worked at clinics in London, Oxford and Oslo where he was fortunate enough to work with some exceptional physiotherapists and develop a strong skill set.

Stuart believes that continuing education is crucial to keep up-to-date with the most effective treatment methods available and achieve optimal outcomes for his patients. In 2004 Stuart went on to complete a Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and more recently was offered a place on the two-year training programme to become a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Stuart continues to fuel his passion for clinical education through research and regular attendance at professional development seminars.

Since 2014 Stuart has been the owner and director of Active Physiotherapy and has enjoyed the experience and challenge of being both a clinician and manager of a small business.
